Monet on a spin cycle (with Cheshire Cat)
Ive been painting spirals almost obsessively for a few years now....bright and colourful and intense....but they feel like something is moving so fast in this world its almost overwhelming....so I call them "apocalypse spirals"....
My way of dealing with existential angst I guess....
When I originally painted this large apocalypse spiral a few months ago I called it "Monet on a spin cycle" because it was littered with all of these beautiful dainty impressionist flowers....I could see the Cheshire Cat grinning at me from the bottom corner....it seemed such a ridiculous thing to add to the painting...but I eventually gave in and here s/he is!
Suppose it makes sense, you gotta laugh while you're circling the toilet bowl.....
