Perfume making Workshops

Interested in learning about Botanical Perfumery? 
I run workshops in my studio in Byron Bay, where you can get some hands on experience of what it's like to work  in a real perfume studio.
You'll learn about the basic terms used in perfumery:

-the different ingredients used in Botanical Perfumery and how they smell (essential oil, absolutes, CO2 extracts, tinctures, enfleurage extracts)
-the different things used in Botanical Perfumery
-the definition of top, middle and base notes
-what an "accord" is and how it is created
-how to evaluate and really "smell" essential oils
-the basics of perfume composition

You'll get to play with a variety of common and unusual ingredients, learn about their historical and aromatherapy uses as well as how they are used in perfumery.  Gain a much deeper insight into the practice of botanical perfumery and where to go from here. And you'll get to make some of your own simple perfume blends to take home with you at the end of the workshop!

These workshops are held periodically here in Alice Springs
​and can also be held anywhere in Australia on request
