Rainbow Serpent
Ive been flying over the Central Australian Desert Landscape for years...and photographing it, dreaming of eventually finding a way to paint it...
Then one day when I was experimenting with acrylic pouring techniques, I realised I had accidentally recreated exactly that. So I started to pick out the Rainbow Serpent that weaves it's way through the land, creating the Waterways, the inland rivers, the waterholes and lakes as it goes.... this one is one of my favourites of the series...
The Rainbow Serpent itself does not have any I could when I see it in my dreams...it is transparent, and the land it flows through shines through it as it is transformed....so I used glass paint to try and recreate this...subtle green blue and shiny with a 3d gold gutta outline....
It is for sale, but is part of my Desert travels exhibition, opening in Brisbane in August, so it's not available for pickup till September.
